Scalar Quadratic Maximum-likelihood Estimators for the CMB Cross-power Spectrum

چکیده

Estimating the cross-correlation power spectra of cosmic microwave background (CMB), in particular, T B and EB spectra, is important for testing parity symmetry cosmology diagnosing insidious instruments systematics. The Quadratic Maximum Likelihood (QML) estimator provides optimal estimates but it computationally very expensive. hybrid pseudo-Cl fast performs poorly on large scales. As a natural extension previous work (Chen et al. 2021), this article, we present new unbiased based Smith-Zaldarriaga (SZ) approach E-B separation scalar QML to reconstruct spectrum, called QML-SZ estimator. Our relies ability construct maps, which allows us use obtain spectrum. By reducing pixel number algorithm complexity, computational cost nearly one order magnitude smaller running time two orders faster test situations.

Power Spectrum Estimators For Large CMB Datasets

Forthcoming high-resolution observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation will generate datasets many orders of magnitude larger than have been obtained to date. The size and complexity of such datasets presents a very serious challenge to analysing them with existing or anticipated computers. Here we present an investigation of the currently favored algorithm for obtaining th...

Maximum-likelihood estimation of the CMB power spectrum from interferometer observations

A maximum-likelihood method is presented for estimating the power spectrum of anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) from interferometer observations. The method calculates flat band-power estimates in separate bins in l-space, together with confidence intervals on the power in each bin. For multifrequency data, the power spectrum of the other foreground components may also be re...

On the Maximum Likelihood Estimators for some Generalized Pareto-like Frequency Distribution

Abstract. In this paper we consider some four-parametric, so-called Generalized Pareto-like Frequency Distribution, which have been constructed using stochastic Birth-Death Process in order to model phenomena arising in Bioinformatics (Astola and Danielian, 2007). As examples, two ”real data” sets on the number of proteins and number of residues for analyzing such distribution are given. The co...

Power Spectrum Estimation II. Linear Maximum Likelihood

This second paper of two companion papers on the estimation of power spectra specializes to the topic of estimating galaxy power spectra at large, linear scales using maximum likelihood methods. As in the first paper, the aims are pedagogical, and the emphasis is on concepts rather than technical detail. The paper covers most of the salient issues, including selection functions, likelihood func...

The Convergence of Lossy Maximum Likelihood Estimators

Given a sequence of observations (Xn)n≥1 and a family of probability distributions {Qθ}θ∈Θ, the lossy likelihood of a particular distribution Qθ given the data Xn 1 := (X1,X2, . . . ,Xn) is defined as Qθ(B(X 1 ,D)), where B(Xn 1 ,D) is the distortion-ball of radius D around the source sequence X n 1 . Here we investigate the convergence of maximizers of the lossy likelihood.
